
Sudan receives second batch of Ukrainian flour as a part of «Grain frоm Ukraine» initiative
The MV Future ID vessel with 14.6 thsd tonnes of Ukrainian flour has arrived in Sudan. This is the second batch of humanitarian aid under President Zelenskyy's «Grain from Ukraine» initiative, which was sent to Sudan by the World Food Program (WFP), the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine reported.
As the Ministry reminded, the first batch of humanitarian aid from Ukraine in the amount of 7.7 thsd tonnes of flour was delivered to Sudan on February 22 this year.
"The donors of the two consignments were Germany, which provided $15 mln, as well as Belgium, Canada, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Ireland, the Netherlands, the Republic of Korea, Slovenia and Spain, which financed the shipment of the second consignment of flour in the amount of $23.8 mln," the statement said.
It is specified that the flour will be distributed by WFP as part of food packages for 2 mln people in Sudan affected by the war.
